Dave Krug
From the time Dave Krug heard his first jazz
concert at the age of 11, he knew he wanted
to be the one up on stage creating the music.
The jazz was cool, exciting, expressive, and
improvised on the spot. Part of a musical
family, Dave comes by his love of music naturally.
But with jazz, the saxophone became more than
just an instrument to him--it became another
voice. He could create music that was a change
from the norm, spontaneous and dynamic.
A Baltimore native, Dave Krug began playing
sax in the late 90's, developing early skills
through music school, church groups, and classical
practice. He also performed at a variety of
shows along the Middle Atlantic coast. Since
going professional, he has played live and
recorded with several groups and artists,
all of which have influenced his musical preferences
and style.
He is on the vanguard of instrumental music.
And whether it's contemporary jazz, pop-jazz,
nu-jazz, or a blending of styles, Dave Krug's
music is uniquely his own. Honest, sensuous,
free-flowing, unpretentious--and always smooth.
