RONNIE FREDRICK
Born in a small southern town in North Carolina
called Mt. Olive, Ron comes from five generations
of musicians. All played either guitar or
piano. Ron's dad, a guitarist, died when he
was a very young boy. He never got a chance
to hear his father play, but at the tender
age of fourteen, following in the footsteps
of his three elder brothers, he began to teach
himself hos to play guitar. Little did he
know, he had alredy been blessed from the
man ablve with a gift, "a gift of the
strings. By the time Ron reached the age of
twenty, he was playing with the local musicians,
forming his first rhythm & blues group.
He would spend most weekends playing the local
circuit until he moved to Philadelphia, Pa.
There he continued his craft of creating his
signature guitar voice that would later speak
for him. He joined some of Pilly's hottest
jazz=fusion groups, as well as R&B. He
later temed up with his brothers, who were
all residing in the city and formed a group
that played most of the college and local
club circuits. Then he was blessed with the
opportuinity of a lifetime; he met a keyboardist
performing in an Atlantic City Casino. The
key board player had heard of Ron's talents
from another musician. This resulted in Ron
receiving an invitation to play a tour with
the Big Red Boat Cruise Line out of Olrando
, Florida. The Cruise line traveled to tropical
islands in the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands.
There, Ron met all types of people, musicians,
producers and singers. He eventually performed
work with various artists, from Rap musicians,
to Contemporary Gospel, Contemporary Jazz
and Rhythm & Blues. Ron has released two
solo projects. The first entitiled "
In Flight," and his latest project entitled
" Cross Roads." This creation represents
Ron's latest guitar magic that will take you
many places. The CD project represents manuy
roads traveled in the life and times of a
musician. Take a listen, I'm sure you will
enjoy the ride on the passenger side, as Ron
takes you to "Cross Roads".
